Description

NGC 3628, also known as the Hamburger Galaxy, a part of the Leo Triplet:

Leo Triplet (M65, M66, NGC 3628)

NGC 3628 is a spiral galaxy seen almost edge-on and showing a long tidal tail extending by ~300,000 light years. This close-up view is a part of the wider image taken in April, 2024 with my mobile setup, the 250 mm f/4 Lacerta PhotoNewton and ZWO ASI2600MM Pro and ASI294MM Pro cameras riding on top of the Orion HDX-110 EQ-G and SkyWatcher CQ-350 mounts. R channel is a combination of the R and H-alpha data. The original exposures were factor x2 drizzle integrated to increase image resolution. Star reduction was done using RC BlurXTerminator, while the extended objects were sharpened using RL deconvolution and Multiscale Transform.
